Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Jehad Abughazaleh, South Africa (“we”, “us”), who runs EditFlag (“the service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. The service

EditFlag is a design tool for flags and posters that runs in your web browser. It has a free plan and a paid plan called Pro. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page.

2. Your account

• You need an account only to buy and use Pro. The free plan works without one.
• Use an e-mail address that is yours. We send confirmation codes and notices about your account to it.
• Keep your password and the codes we send you to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• An account is for one person. Do not share it or sell access to it.
• You must be at least 13 years old to make an account. If you are under 18 you need the permission of a parent or guardian to buy Pro.

3. Pro plans, prices and payment

• Pro monthly costs $20 a month. It renews automatically every month until you cancel.
• Pro lifetime costs $100, paid once. It is a permanent purchase: it does not renew and does not run out. “Lifetime” means for as long as the service exists. If we ever have to close the service we will tell account holders at least 90 days before.
• Tax may be added to these prices depending on where you live. The final amount is shown before you pay.
• We may change prices for new purchases. A price change for Pro monthly is announced by e-mail at least 30 days before it applies to you.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

4. Refunds

Pro lifetime can be refunded within 30 days of the purchase. After 30 days it is final and is not refunded. Pro monthly can be cancelled at any time and months already paid are not refunded. The full rules and the exceptions are in the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.

5. Your designs

• What you make with the service is yours. We claim no rights to it.
• Your designs are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. We cannot see them and we cannot restore them. Export a project file to keep a copy.

6. Artwork from other sources

The service can load flags, emblems, icons and fonts from outside libraries such as Wikimedia Commons, Iconify, flag-icons and Google Fonts. Each file has its own licence, and some require you to name the author. National flags and emblems are protected by law in some countries. You are responsible for checking that you may use a file the way you intend to.

7. Fair use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, do not try to get around the limits of your plan, do not share or resell accounts or licence keys, and do not disturb or attack the service. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

8. Suggestions

• The suggestion box is public. Everybody who opens it can read what you write and the name you choose to show.
• Keep it friendly and about EditFlag. No insults, no advertising, no links, and no personal details about yourself or anybody else.
• We may hide or delete any suggestion, and block an account from writing more, without giving a reason.
• You can remove your own suggestions at any time.
• We may use any idea posted there to improve the service, without payment or credit.

9. Changes and availability

We work to keep the service running and may add, change or remove features. Parts of the service depend on outside libraries that we do not control and that may be unavailable at times.

10. Closing your account

You can stop using the service at any time. To have your account and its data deleted, write to support@editflag.com from the e-mail address of the account. Cancel Pro monthly first so that you are not charged again.

11. Liability

The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost designs, lost profit or indirect damage, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law of your country gives you as a consumer and that cannot be set aside by agreement.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to account holders we announce it by e-mail before it applies.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, without taking away the protection that the mandatory consumer law of your own country gives you.
